Thank You to Our Board Members

By Jackie Mendelson,
JNET Chairperson

Changes are a certainty. Some are sweet as in the addition of Asher Levin of Asher Levin Law, APC and Josh Lampel of Skyline Home Loans to the JNET National Board of Directors. And others are bittersweet as in the resignations from the board of Judy Robitschek of robi-chex graphic design + production; Max Isenberg of Centex Funding and Suddenly 65; and Jennifer Maraia of the Maraia Group. Judy, Max, and Jennifer will now take their place as Trusted Advisors of the JNET Board.

Many thanks to these women for their dedication, stewardship and personal commitment to JNET as treasured members of our board.

Since leaving the board, Judy has continued to work with both the PR/Communication Committee and the Support Committee in fulfilling their tasks. She is still an active participant in JNET, serving as the PR Coordinator for the Tarzana PM Chapter.

As Co-Chair of the Membership Committee, Max worked with Co-Chair Dalia Hayon, who is also Board Secretary providing the welcoming face of JNET to all new members. Together they created the Schmoozing with a Purpose orientation workshops to introduce and refresh members to the JNET brand of networking. Max also served on the JNET Cares Committee taking the lead in expressing condolences, get well wishes, Mazel Tov acknowledgments to JNET members experiencing life events with warmth, compassion, and authentic concern.

Jennifer Maraia has some exciting new opportunities in her life that necessitated her departure from the Board. Jennifer served on the Board as our Chair of the Program Committee helping to make our participation in the Celebrate Israel Festival the past few years a success. Before that, Jennifer was a strong and effective member of the West Hills Chapter Leadership Team.

THANK YOU Judy, Max, and Jennifer for all your time, energy and contributions toward the betterment of JNET!

Introducing JNET's 2018 Board of Directors
JNET 2018 Board of Directors

This is a perfect time to call attention to our wonderfully talented group of leaders who devote their time year-round to JNET’s success. Currently the board consists of Chair Jackie Mendelson, Vice-Chair Judi Lirman, Treasurer Randy Michel, Secretary Dalia Hayon, PR/Communications Chair Robin Kellogg, Social Committee Chair Sandy Hollander, Board Member Fred Gruber, Growth Chair Jackson Schwartz, Ritual Chair Josh Lampel, Board Member Asher Levin, Board Member Gail Salem and Frank Tessell, our Board Member Emeritus. Kosher Food is Everywhere!

JNET Ritual Chair and Kosher Nostra Josh Lampel created a special video to help members learn where to find Kosher snacks for JNET meetings. Did you know you can find many items at your local grocery store? Join Josh for a guided tour through Ralph’s. You won’t want to miss it!

Thanks to Host Josh Lampel and Director and Producer Ben Geffner

If you’re unsure what the Kosher symbols look like, View JNET's Kosher Guidelines, prepared thanks to PR/Communications Chair Robin Kellogg.

Celebrate Israel Festival Roundup

Celebrate Israel Festival event logo

More than 40 people stopped by the JNET booth at the Celebrate Israel Festival, May 6 in Rancho Park. Thank you Jennifer Maraia, former JNET Program Chair, for organizing the effort and securing a prime booth space for JNET. Several members gave up their Sunday to promote JNET and speak to passersby. Our sincerest thanks go to Membership Chair Dalia Hayon, PR/Communications Chair Robin Kellogg, Avi Albeck, Linda Radell, Jean Roth, Jessica Fass, JNET Vice Chairperson Judi Lirman, Judith Sack, Ronit Krancberg, Jack Bulko, Shelley Fisher, Larry Estrin and Debbie Nierenberg for their help that day. And thank you to JNET Administrator Rachael Payne, who followed up with booth visitors who provided their contact information. This is how a cohesive group gets things done. Go, JNET!

Additional Speaking Opportunities

Under JNET's rules, members can speak twice a year at chapter meetings. However, some chapters are exempt from this rule through December 2018, making it possible for members to speak more than twice a year. Contact the following presidents if you are interested in speaking at their chapter, and it will not count towards your annual two-presentation limit:

JNET Cares

  • Congratulations to Bob and Ida Worth on the birth of their granddaughter.

  • Condolences to the family of Joseph Guttman, who owned Fasco Electric. Joe, an electrician for more than 55 years, was a knowledgeable and trusted resource for all of JNET. Joe's family is in our prayers, and we are grateful for Joe's rich friendship.

JNET In the News

JNET’s "How Jews Schmooze" ad appeared in the Jewish Journal's May 11th issue, and will run again in its July 27th issue. For many years, our advertisement in the Journal has helped us increase our membership and our recognition in the community. Many thanks to Graphic Designer and JNET Chapter Leader Judy Robitschek, who continues to provide us with effective, eye-catching graphic design.
