How did you hear about JNET?
With more than 25 years of experience in the field of Geriatric Nursing, I spent 12 years as the Director of the Center for Aging, Research and Evaluation at Granada Hills Community Hospital. At the center clients could be evaluated and treated for chronic conditions of aging and for diseases such as Alzheimer's, Vascular Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. In addition the center offered education and support groups which formed the basis for "The Memory Club" a very successful program that continues today at the Alzherimer's Association.
I have participated on many ongoing committees which enhance the senior community and support caregivers. Among these I served for 6 years as the Chairperson of the annual Caregiver Wellness Day sponsored by the Los Angeles Southland Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Additionally I managed the Exhibit Tables at the Memory Walk for over 15 years. In June of 2006 I was honored by the Alzheimer's Association at their annual Volunteer Lunch.
Three years ago a group of us in the field of aging started a non-profit...SFV M.A.P.S. Charities, Inc....to assist disadvantaged seniors and their families with funds for short term solutions.
For the last 7 years I have been associated with Concepts for Living which is a Senior Residential Placement Service.
This has fit in perfectly with my previous experience and allowed me to continue to assist seniors and their families in a new way.
We provide personalized consultations with our clients in order to assist them to find the perfect match.
In my spare time I enjoy travel, book clubs, theatre and family events of all kinds.
