Susan worked for two prominent commercial real estate firms, Daum and Beitler, prior to transitioning to residential sales.
When she found herself in the depressed housing market following the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, she used her background in marketing and advertising to create a strategy which continues to be the foundation of her ever-evolving marketing program. Because she works primarily by referral and only with a few clients at one time, she is able to give full attention and access to her clients. She has had experience with almost any type of sale including REOs, Short Pays & 1031 tax-deferred exchanges.
Susan has both the prestigious, nationally recognized CRS and GRI designations. The Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Designation is the highest professional designation awarded to REALTORS® in the residential sales field. Fewer than 3 percent of all REALTORS® nationwide hold the CRS Designation. The GRI from the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute, is similar to a CPA designation for the accounting profession. She has also earned the Senior Real Estate Specialist designation (SRES®) to accommodate transitioning seniors, and became a Notary in order to eliminate their having to go to escrow or to an outside notary.
Susan has written articles for a number of publications including The Pasadena Business Journal, The Daily News, Hispanic Times and The Acorn. She has taught buyer classes for Bank of America. She graduated from Pomona College in Claremont, has a Professional Designation in Marketing and Merchandising from UCLA and is fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Her formal marketing, multi-cultural background and excellent negotiating skills give her clients a unique advantage in today’s difficult economy.
Susan creates individualized marketing plans for residential property of all kinds and uses cutting edge Internet and other marketing tools. She partners with agents outside of her territory to coordinate marketing, contracts and negotiations via telephone and e-mail. Because of her past experience working with diverse cultural groups and living abroad, Susan is especially adept in contracts and negotiations with foreign nationals due to her international experience in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
Susan works with both buyers and sellers often helping them prepare for their sale or purchase one or two years in advance. She also is available to provide complimentary Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) to clients for tax, estate-planning and other purposes.
